I don't entirely understand the delusion this works by. My theory is that some old fear tactic instilled by some gestapo style media outlet was trying to create panic and manufacture scarcity by telling the world that were 'running out of water' and that we need to do something or were all going to find ourselves in the middle of a massive desert.
The reality is this planets most abundent and easily accessible resource is water. Some can argue that the process of purification can be difficult, 90% of this graph has nothing to do with what makes cleaning the water so difficult. When a cow drinks water, it isn't be 'used' or 'wasted'. The cow urinates right onto the Earth and it then flows into the earth as well evaporates into the air which are two of the most powerful and absolutely free forms of cleaning water. This graph almost seems like a 'peta' advertisement.
It is easy to verify what I am about to say. Many companies and groups have gone through great lengths to slow and prevent technologies that would enhance our species ability to generate easy to use energy (electricity, power cell, et cetera). But that is the key, to create energy at such an incredibly massive amount and make it so cheaply that the concept of energy consumption being a cost or a worry would no longer exist. With that in mind we can prepare all the drinking, bathing, and otherwise ready to use water supply for our species.
