Man try to buy crack with credit card

A man wanted for stealing a car was robbed after he tried to buy crack cocaine using a credit card.

According to Flint authorities in Michigan, a man accused of stealing a car then reporting it stolen remains in custody.

He complained to the police that he was robbed at gunpoint while attempting to purchase crack cocaine with a credit card.

The Flint Journal reports that the man claimed Thursday night that a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu had been stolen. Police reports indicated the car was previously stolen out of Lapeer, around 50 miles north-northwest of Detroit.

The suspect is being held at the Genesee County Jail.

No further details have been released.
