Fulham were forced to have a training session on the German autobahn on their way to their Europa League semi-final with Hamburg. The team had to drive across Europe because of the volcanic ash crisis, and an accident on the motorway resulted in the team coach being stuck in a three-hour traffic jam.
Roy Hodgson's men were nearing the end of a 17-hour trip, so the Fulham boss took advantage of the delay by conducting a light workout by the side of the road.
Fulham keeper Mark Schwarzer said: "It's not ideal preparation but it was good to get out and stretch.
"Whether you come by bus or plane it's going to be difficult to get to a final.
"We have clocked up the miles and this time it hasn't been the best but we're professionals and just have to get on with it."
