The auction house says the "fancy intense pink" gem is being sold by an unnamed private collector and was last on the market 60 years ago.
Sotheby's says the 24.78 carat diamond has a classic emerald cut with gently rounded corners.
The company says the stone has a flaw unnoticeable to the naked eye but may be graded internally flawless after re-polishing.
Sotheby's estimated Monday that the diamond will sell for $27-38 million.
The diamond went on exhibition worldwide starting in Hong Kong on Oct. 2 before going up for auction Nov. 18 in Geneva.
